- The fact the name of the band and album is in bright red capitalised letters on top of a white background and overlapping the black image signifies that the band itself and their music are more important than their image. It is their musical reputation they want their audience to be attracted to rather than their star image.
- The fact the front man, Paul Smith’s, face is covered and his image is in black and white highlights the point that his emotion and what he is wearing is unimportant. This reinforces my point above that their image is not what they consider important, if anything it is the pose he is striking which is significant.
- The pose is representative of the alternative and rock genre for it is a common pose performed by many artists of this genre at gigs and in photography.
