After looking at the music video Mystery Jets – Young Love I decided to do some research into Mystery Jets Record Label to see if I could find some similar artists and music videos. From this research I discovered that they are signed to the label Rough Trade. Rough Trade grew out of the Rough Trade Shop which was founded by Geoff Travis in 1976. The Label was set up in 1978 before becoming independent from the shop in 1982. Rough Trade was an independently owned entity — a partnership between Mr. Travis, Jeanette Lee and minority partners, Sanctuary Records, as a part of the Zomba Music Group until June 11th 2002 when BMG bought out the business. In July 2007 Sanctuary Records then sold Rough Trade to the Beggars Group making Rough Trade independent once again. Rough Trade specialised in post punk and alternative rock in the late 1970s and early 1980s. A 192-page illustrated history of Rough Trade, written by Rob Young of The Wire, was published in September 2006 by the UK-based company Black Dog Publishing.

When researching my director James Copeman I discovered the company he works with in publishing his music videos is Black Dog! Black Dog published the history book about the record label. The record label of the band Mystery Jets. The Mystery Jets music video Young Love was directed by Copeman. He had it published by Black Dog! Small world. It seems Black Dog have a lot of influence in the Industry… (at least the part we’re focusing on)

Black Dog was formed in 1991 by Jake Scott out of his love of music and film and a desire to establish himself as a director. As Jake's acclaim rose in music videos, so did Black Dog's reputation in attracting an array of amazing directorial talent. It produces quality videos for artists such as Kylie Minogue, The Rolling Stones, U2, and Arctic Monkeys!
