THOUSANDS OF FREE BLOGGER TEMPLATES

Our last day of filming finally arrived! We spent the day blowing up balloons, making jelly, shopping for food and drink, making masks and getting to know Billie's younger brother so as to encourage him to want to co operate with us during filming.

This went on until 8 o clock when our cast began to arrive. We decided that to create a more 'friendly' feel to the evening we would abandon the tripod and go hand-held. Not only will this look more realistic thus engaging for the audience but it also allowed our cast to feel more comfortable around the camera. This certainly was the case as many of our cast approached the camera thus addressing the audience allowing our video to feel more personal. Despite this we also captured many shots where no eye contact was made; this creates a voyeuristic feel as the audience, for some parts, may feel as if they are watching the party from the side. This mix of techniques means that we will be catering for a larger audience, those who like to feel involved and those who prefer to watch on.

Our cast were cooperative in the sense that they were willing to dance however they were not helpful in allowing us to capture shots that we had originally planned in our storyboard. This will not compromise our video as the material they did provide us with was natural and in no way inferior to our original ideas. The main problem we encountered with them was their energy levels. They were incapable of staying in one place for very long therefore instead of shots containing lots of people in one room we have ended up mostly with a variety of shots each containing fewer people in different locations around the house. This is not a major problem as it gives the impression of there being many guests as different people appear in each scene, however, it does not create the impression of a full house like we had originally desired.

Our biggest problem was that by the time we were ready to shoot the scenes containing Billie's brother he was tired and daunted by the amount of big people surrounding him. This means that he will not be present during the middle of our music video which may lead to confusion for the audience as his role in aiding the storyline was quite large. We did manage to get him to appear in one of our last scenes where he had to kiss the protagonist on the cheek, however he would not, understandably, kiss a stranger so we dressed up his sister in the protagonists costume and mask in an attempt to diminish the continuity error.

Another problem which we encountered was the lighting, or lack of. As people did not feel comfortable dancing with the lights on our shots are quite grainy however when we are editing we are going to use this to our advantage by making it appear as if it was our intention to make it look gritty and aged. Another problem we are going to use to our advantage is our casts reluctance to wear the masks. This means that throughout the music video only our protagonist will be featured wearing a bunny mask however this just means that she stands out in the frame so she is more recognisable as the protagonist.

Despite all the problems I have outlined the shoot was successful and I look forward to editing and producing our music video!
