When trying to draw influence from other artists I decided to research a band that has a similar sound to our chosen song for that should help to ensure that our music video adheres to the conventions of the alternative genre. The band I decided that sounded most similar to Happiness – Look At That Rabbit Go is Bombay Bicycle Club. I first heard them at V Festival 2006 after they had won Channel 4’s ‘Road to V’ Competition.

The band originates from Crouch End, London and is composed of Jack Steadman (lead vocals, guitar), Jamie MacColl (lead guitar, backing vocals), Ed Nash (bass guitar, keyboard) and Suren de Saram (drums, backing vocals). Steadman, MacColl, and de Saram originally started the band aged 15 in 2005 under the name ‘The Canals’ until Nash joined in 2006 and they renamed themselves 'Bombay Bicycle Club.' Before Road to V they played gigs at school and at small London venues such as Lark in the Park and Jacksons Lane.
They released two EPs in 2007 ‘The Boy I used To Be’ and ‘How We Are’ on their own independent record label ‘Mmm…Records’ furthermore ‘How We Are’ debuted at #2 in the UK Indie Singles Chart 2007 after they headlined their first UK tour in order to support it.
