Today was our first official shoot day! We decided to film one of the early scenes as our location, Claudia's bedroom, was accessible to us and our cast included only the crew thus making it easier to coordinate. The scenes we choose to shoot were numbers 8 - 12 on the storyboard which included the girls getting ready for the party and the close ups of them applying make up to certain features.

We began with our original idea which was to film three girls getting ready with their reflection in the mirror however due to the limited space it was challenging to get all three of their bodies and reflections into the frame so we decided to opt for using just one girl. This has certain merits such as it sets her out as being the protagonist 'the pretty bunny' furthermore it allowed us to be more adventurous with our angles for we did not have to worry about fitting everyone into the frame. This also meant we could include more of the mise-en-scene which in turn heightens the party atmosphere and creates more connotations of her having a girlish nature.

We then moved onto filming the close ups of Claudia applying mascara, blusher and lipstick. This entailed us playing around with the lighting to make it flattering, sophisticated and pragmatic.
