Today we were beginning to think about our storyboard and how we were planning on shooting our music video when we finally admitted how hard it will be to actually construct our idea. We realised that to create the desired effect we would have to be filming from above and we discovered these problems:
- How do we get that high so that we can then get our actor and their surroundings in the shot
- Even if we manage to get that high how do we suspend the camera in thin air
- If we then miraculously find a way to get the camera in position how do we start and stop recording without moving the camera and losing the position we want it in…
With this is mind we started looking at other music videos for inspiration when Billie showed us Cobra Starship – Guilty Pleasures.
We immediately loved this idea! We can stage a house party to create a realistic atmosphere and incorporate animation such as a pile of shoes growing at the door as people enter and vodka shots emptying in succession as these have connotations of a party furthermore they will add extra entertainment. We also thought it would be fun to have the party as fancy dress to make it a bit more exciting. Over the next week we’re going to come up with some more ideas before we meet on Friday and begin to put them down on paper!
